This wagon wheel chandelier is one of a kind.
The wheel was found at an antique shop in Oregon. Its age is approximately 160 years old. It has been kept inside from the time of removal from the wagon to the present. It has the unique red stain that was used as a preservative during that time. The stain does penetrate all the way through the wood. It may be from the rear wheel of a buckboard.
We created a chandelier out of it. The wheel is 42" in diameter and has 30 different sized candle lights all around the top rim. Each candle is from 2" in diameter to 5" in diameter and is of variable heights. Each simulated candle is hand formed and waxed. Each candle is unique in its own right and has its own characteristics to give it the illusion of an actual candle. Each light that is inside the candles has a candelabra-based, 3-5 watt flicker flame bulb, again to give the illusion of a waxed candle burning. At night, this wheel is absolutely fantastic. It looks just like an actual wheel with waxed candles burning all around the rim.
Additionally, there are 5 low-voltage halogen lamps pointing downward from the bottom of the rim. Four are tucked in between the spokes of the wheel, and the 5th down-light is mounted in the center where the axle would be. The candles are on one circuit, and the down-lights are on another circuit. Dual wiring goes up the chain to the cluster and then continues up the chain to the canopy which connects to a box in the ceiling.
The chandelier is 42" high from the bottom of the hub to the loop above the cluster. There is 3' of chain from the cluster to the canopy and 10' of wire above the cluster for proper installation height.
This beautiful chandelier is ideal for a great room with a western motif. It would also be great in a log home, a hotel, a hunting lodge, a winery, a bed and breakfast, or many other unique applications. The wholesale price on this one-of-a-kind chandelier is $12,995, plus professional crating and shipping, and Nevada tax, if applicable.
